Traveling for surgery can be an overwhelming thought, but it doesn’t have to be. Dr. Joshua L. Levine is a world-renowned surgeon that treat patients who travel to New York and New Jersey to seek their surgical expertise. Whether you are a local patient or a patient traveling internationally, it is easy to make arrangements to have your surgery performed by Dr. Levine.
Local patients to the tri-state area will meet with Dr. Levine prior to scheduling surgery. Out-of-town patients (over 3 hours driving distance) will meet with Dr. Levine the day of or the day before their scheduled surgery.
If you are traveling in for just a consultation or if you are a “next day surgery” patient, our staff is dedicated to assisting our patients in making the travel process stress-free. Though we cannot schedule your flight or reserve your hotel room, we can certainly make recommendations on where to stay and the best times to fly in for your consultation or next day surgery.

OUR PATIENT CARE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
As the leader of our Patient Care Management Program, Sandra Oxley will act as your personal liaison through the entire breast reconstruction process. In addition to working with you on scheduling, appointments and the coordination of care with all of your healthcare providers, one of Sandra’s primary duties is to make sure that all your travel needs are taken care of. Sandra prides herself on building relationships with our patients to ensure they have a positive and comfortable experience before, during and after surgery. Flights, hotels, car service for you and your family or caregiver will be happily taken care of by Sandra and our other expert staff.

Common Questions
HOW LONG WILL I STAY?
Depending on your procedure type there are different timeframes. Flap procedures may require a stay of 5 to 6 days. Upon returning home, you can expect some swelling, soreness, and bruising for 2 to 3 weeks. You may be asked to apply medications to the suture area or change bandages at home. Dr. Levine and his staff will be a phone call away.
